What are veneers?

veneers.jpg Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or resin that are bonded to the teeth to enhance the shape of teeth and improve your overall smile.

Considered a cosmetic enhancement for teeth, they look terrific, are strong and do not change colour or stain.

They are durable and thin, with a thickness of only 1.5mm.

Patients can choose porcelain veneers or composite veneers. Porcelain veneers take a few dental visits, while composites can be done in one visit. The porcelain option tends to last longer than composite veneers.

Process of placing veneers

  1. The dentist will take precise, 3D, digital images of your teeth using iTero technology.

  2. The impressions made by iTero will be sent electronically to our lab, where veneers will be made to fit you perfectly.

  3. You will then be asked to come back to the office and the veneers will be cemented into place, making sure they fit as comfortably as possible and that you are happy with the look.

Veneers may be more expensive and time-consuming than bonding, but compared to crowns they are a lot less expensive. Veneers tend to be a popular solution for those seeking that perfect smile.
