Orthodontics for adults

Orthodontic treatment is not only designed to improve the appearance of your smile, but also can improve the health of your teeth and gums. By seeking orthodontic treatment as an adult, you can help avoid severe tooth decay, gum and bone loss, irregular wear of the tooth enamel and jaw pain.

Because adults tend to be more compliant in their orthodontic treatment, their results often turn out even greater than with a child or teen. By following the orthodontic instructions, you not only increase your chances of amazing results, but you may also shorten your treatment time.

In addition to Invisalign, Oasispark Dental offers orthodontic braces made of metal, ceramic or acrylic. The braces can be removable or bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.  You can also choose brackets that have clear color.  Wires are also made of materials that make them less noticeable than in the past, and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients.

Adult Braces

The number of adults choosing orthodontics is on the rise. Today one out of every four orthodontic patients is an adult. We offer a full range of treatments specifically designed for adults. Contrary to popular belief, wearing braces interferes little in an adult lifestyle. Patients can make business presentations, sing, play a musical instrument, dine out and, yes of course, kiss!

Don’t ever feel it’s too late to enhance your smile. Schedule your free consultation today and let us help you start your journey to receiving a beautiful, straight smile!

Celebrities with dental braces

Celebrities are just like you and me; when it comes to orthodontic treatment and braces. Not even celebrities are perfect and many of their perfect Hollywood smiles, were not perfect at one point. There are cases where orthodontic treatment is necessary to align the teeth, before veneers or other restorative procedures are preformed.

Some people still feel a little conscious of wearing braces but welcome to the new age! Today one of every four orthodontic patients is an adult.

Well, how about seeing celebrities with braces? Would that change your opinion about wearing braces? There are many celebrities who are not self-conscious about wearing braces. Instead they wear them loud and proud. This just goes to show that celebrities aren’t perfect and they weren’t born with perfect teeth either.

Tom Cruise had braces in 2002. The mission wasn’t impossible for Tom Cruise’s orthodontist, when the famous actor underwent orthodontic treatment to correct the alignment of his teeth at the age of 40. He wore clear, ceramic braces to help straighten and adjust his bite. Tom Cruise didn’t hesitate to flash his "tin grin" during his movie premiere of ‘Space Station 3-D’ on April 17, 2002 at the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC.

Nicholas Cage was photographed at the 55th Annual Writers Guild Awards on March 8, 2003 in Beverly Hills, California, wearing silver braces on his lower teeth. Why did he undergo orthodontic treatment at that specific time? He was quoted saying, “I’m in-between movies right now, and I wanted to get them.”

Singer Delta Goodrem wore braces in 2004, apparently to prevent her teeth from moving during her treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The beautiful singer was photographed at the Sony Music Entertainment Post-Grammy Party at Maple Drive Restaurant on February 8, 2004 in Beverly Hills, California with clear braces on her teeth.

Other celebrity adults that had braces are: Christiano Ronaldo at age 18, Faye Dunaway at age 61, Faith Hill at 45 years and Gwen Stefani had her braces in 1999, although she admitted she only had them put on for a fashion statement.
